On 20-21 November 2013, Patrick Boissier, DCNS chairman and CEO, gave a series of conferences in Canada. With its new-generation multimission FREMM frigates, DCNS is a leading contender for the Canadian Surface Combatant (CSC) programme under the National Shipbuilding Procurement Strategy (NSPS).
As the CEO of DCNS, Patrick Boissier was part of a Canadian Tour, where he took the opportunity to present his plans for growth within the Canadian maritime sector.
DCNS aims to expand its long-term industrial ties with Canada by drawing on a number of successes in international cooperation. The Group has the strong desire to work with Canada as a strong naval partner. Therefore DCNS opened an office in Ottawa one year ago to have a better understanding of the Canadian needs.

Valued at over $35 billion dollars, the National Shipbuilding Procurement Strategy (NSPS), with its made-in-Canada approach to shipbuilding, will bring over 30 years of economic growth and impact to multiple Canadian sectors through direct and indirect investments.
The sustainable strategic partnerships DCNS is proposing to the Canadian industry will support the most formidable naval defence program undertaken since the Dominion of Canada. In line with the country’s Industrial and Regional Benefits (IRB) policy, the Canadian shipbuilding industry will benefit directly from the CSC programme.
