That cancer-fighting flip flop brand is at it again.
I told readers about Dallas-based Hari Mari, a local startup, a few weeks back, and since then, the company has not slowed down.
This week, the Hari Mari team and some volunteers hosted its first-ever “flop fitting” at Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth. They fitted in & out patients in the oncology ward with new pairs of flip-flops, free of charge. The group gave away 60 pairs of shoes, along with other Hari Mari apparel, such as tote bags and t-shirts.
The company, founded by locals Lila and Jeremy Stewart, is wrapping up its special offer (“Flops Fighting Cancer”) for the month of July, in which $6 of every purchase goes to covering children’s medical bills at Cook Children’s.
The company contributes a portion of its sales to the hospital year-round as part of an ongoing partnership.
