Marie Hargrove Moreaux, a long time resident of New Iberia passed from this life on July 9, 2017, at the age of 85.
She was born February 7, 1932, in Dequincy to the union of Otto Hargrove and Eva McHenry Hargrove.
She was preceded in death by her two sons John David Kennedy and Steve Lee Kennedy; her husbands, John Samuel Kennedy of Peoria, Illinois and Rene Moreaux of New Iberia; one brother Otto Hargrove Jr. of Oakdale; and one sister Lynda Faye Hargrove Nedd of Glenmora.
She is survived by a special friend Galdwin “Neg” Derouen of Jeanerette; five sisters Joyce Hargrove (Chris) Suire of Erath, Yvonne Hargrove Logan of Fort Worth, Texas, Patsy Hargrove (Chuck) Normand of Alexandria, Elaine Hargrove (Vernon) Atkinson of Glenmora and Rhonda Hargrove (Keith) Conway of Inman, South Carolina; a devoted granddaughter Jo Lynn Kennedy of New Iberia; other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Marie graduated from Glenmora High School in Rapides parish in 1950. She went on to a career in nursing retiring a few years ago from Consolata Nursing Home in New Iberia.
Marie chose to donate her body to LSU Science. Her final resting place will be in the beautiful and peaceful setting of Butter’s Cemetery in Forest Hill.
