This week, Puntland Marine Forces launched an aerial attack on Ballidhidin district, killing an innocent man and injuring a women and children who were already afflicted with a long lasting droughts, and destructing houses in the process, An aerial attack strategy of deliberately bombing civilian targets in order to terrorize its civilians.
I agree and support the eradication of pirates in Puntland, but we should follow a proper ways and strategies to invade the pirates with out harming the civilians, its time we learn the value of a single human being, have you ever thought about why Americans invented unmanned aircraft system or drone aircraft, because they don’t want to lose one person.
Puntland marine’s first attack was miserable, we were expecting the forces to target pirates,free ships and not to backfire on its own people, shame on you. Somalis say (Shimbir maalin bay dab qaaday, maalintiina buulkeeda ayey gubtay).
In Puntland ignorance is our master, there is no possibility of real peace, I would argue the Puntland authorities to use common sense and wisdom to lead the region.
By the time of the Aerial strike, the Puntland minister of education Juxa and Save the Children were kicking off developmental and vocational trainings in Eyl (the haven and hideout of puntland pirates) and were nursing pirates with projects.
I believe the president has a sympathetic character and does not want an extended family member pirate be killed on anti-piracy attacks near Eyl, that is why he switched the attacks to Ballidhidin.
Some people are supporting the rumors surrounding president Farole’s affiliation with pirates prior to his election. Because a lot of us has witnessed a dozen of pirates in Garowe driving luxury cars apparently undisturbed, this is when we get the bigger picture.
Puntland belongs to the people and was created by the people for an all inclusive justice.
Law and order exist for the purpose of establishing justice and when they fail in this purpose they become the dangerously structured dams that block the flow of social progress and may result chaos and disorder.
Ballidhidin District residents has strongly condemned this awful and terrorizing attack and will not tolerate such acts again.
