The Ministry of Transport said on Friday that it will continue to work with the international community to enhance the safety in the Straits of Malacca and Singapore (SOMS).
Transport minister Lui Tuck Yew said the waterway is Singapore’s ‘ economic lifeline’.
‘Keeping the SOMS safe and open to international shipping is critical. We will thus continue to work with the international community to enhance the safety in this important waterway,’ Mr Lui said.
