Construction on the Russian Navy’s newest armament transport ship will begin with the keel-laying at JSC Zvezdochka Ship Repair Centre next month.
The keel-laying was originally scheduled to take place in late November, but was postponed until early December due to technical problems, according to Shipbuilding Tribune News.
The 112m-long Project 20180TV ship, based on the Zvezdochka salvage tug, will have a displacement capacity of about 6,000t and will be equipped with more advanced facilities.
The armament support ship is designed to supply Bulava missiles for the newest Borei-class nuclear-powered submarines.
