MAY 25, 2016 — Two BAE Systems ship repair yards, BAE Systems San Diego Ship Repair and BAE Systems Norfolk Ship Repair, have been awarded significant Navy repair contracts.
BAE Systems San Diego Ship Repair, San Diego, CA, is being awarded a $40,659,091 firm-fixed-price, award fee contract for the execution of USS Paul Hamilton (DDG 60) fiscal 2016 extended dry-docking selected restricted availability.
This availability will include a combination of maintenance, modernization, and repair of USS Paul Hamilton.
The contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of this contract to $45,380,950.
Work will be performed in San Diego and is expected to be completed by August 2017.
Fiscal 2016 operations and maintenance (Navy); and fiscal 2016 other procurement (Navy) funding in the amount of $40,659,091 will be obligated at time of award, and funds in the amount of $34,190,195 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
The contract was competitively procured via the Federal Business Opportunities website, with three offers received. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, District of Columbia, is the contracting activity (N00024-16-C-4400).
BAE Systems Norfolk Ship Repair, Norfolk, VA, is being awarded a $17,685,931 firm-fixed-price contract for USS Tortuga (LSD 46) fiscal 2016 special selected restricted availability.
Work will involve ship repair, maintenance, structural, habitability and ventilation repairs, ship alterations, and modernization.
Work will be performed in Norfolk, and is expected to be completed by December 2016.
Fiscal 2016 operations and maintenance (Navy); and fiscal 2016 other procurement (Navy) funding in the amount of 17,685,931 will be obligated at time of award and funds in the amount of $15,042,752 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
The contract was competitively procured under full and open competition via the Federal Business Opportunities website, with three offers received. The Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center, Norfolk, Virginia, is the contracting activity (N50054-16-C-0007).
