Within the Maritime Policy & Compliance (MP&C) Department, the Manager for Maritime Security Operations will serve as the specialist responsible for security posture review within areas of increased threat and the development of strategies to better protect visiting Carnival Corporation & plc assets. Working with Operating Line resources and host nation security forces around the globe, will utilize specialized knowledge in information collection, security assessments, and threat identification to meet Carnival Corporation & plc security and asset protection requirements. As required, will lead or assist in maritime investigations and will help facilitate analysis and analytical production.

Responsibilities Include:
Manage the Corporate Port Security Audit Program to provide a comprehensive threat picture and situational awareness for visiting Carnival Corporation & plc assets to ports and areas of increased threat
Provide in-depth reviews of port/facility security postures to identify potential weaknesses, gaps, and vulnerabilities and recommend measures for risk mitigation
Conduct and/or participate in security audits of ports, terminal facilities, and ships as appropriate
Identify, establish, and leverage national, in-country and Operating Line resources to develop comprehensive asset protection strategies for areas of increased threat
Help coordinate the activities and the collection of data from Operating Line port inspectors and agents for use in the development of port and area assessments
Establish a robust source infrastructure with host-nation officials, intelligence/law enforcement agencies, and port officials capable of surfacing indications and warning information and other forms of actionable intelligence
Expand the program to include the creation of Integrated Vulnerability Assessments, Personnel Vulnerability Assessments and Readiness Reviews that seek to identify and eliminate existing vulnerabilities while improving static security postures and current readiness
Develop a thorough understanding and be able to draft assessments on host-nation antiterrorism/counterterrorism/law enforcement capabilities for countries visited by Carnival Corporation & plc assets
Examining and reviewing any type of maritime or security related incident or accident onboard Carnival Corporation & plc ships worldwide when required by MP&C management
Lead or assist as assigned investigations as required into the causes and circumstances of a range of maritime incidents and accidents, including those involving health, environmental, safety and security activities
Lead or assist as assigned inquiries into incidents which result in personal injury, damage or loss of Carnival Corporation & plc assets. These include loss of life or major injury to any person on board, the actual or presumed loss of a ship, collision or grounding, disablement, and also material damage caused by a ship
Establishing long-term relationships with U.S. Embassy Country Teams, and other U.S. Government officials to include the Department of Defense
Manage security related government sponsored programs within various countries designed to share information and develop concrete solutions to operational risks
Support the Manager, Global Information and Threat Analysis, in the collection of all-source threat information and intelligence to provide predictive warning, threat analysis, and course of action recommendations in support of current and long-term ship itineraries
Assist the Manager, Global Information and Threat Analysis, in the production of security assessments, security information reports, security alerts, weekly intelligence products, briefings, information papers, link analysis and forecasts for operational managers and senior leadership
Become a recognized expert on threats to the cruise line industry and coordinate with the intelligence, defense and commercial communities to vet products and assessments
Ensure continuity of Corporate Maritime Security service and support to Operating Lines during Director, Maritime Security absence
Maintain Corporate Security Group related websites and/or databases as appropriate
Serve as an alternate member on recognized security committees (e.g. CLIA Security Committee) during Director, Maritime Security absence
Manage and coordinate physical security measures for Board of Director meetings and annual Shareholder meetings as required
